Obituary: Donna A. Shipalowski

Donna A. Shipalowski of Easton, formerly of Readville (Hyde Park), died Oct. 9, after a 4-year battle with cancer. She was 67 years old. She was married to Vincent Shipalowski with whom she would have celebrated their 44th anniversary Oct. 19th.

Donna was born April 22, 1946, in Malden and was the daughter of the late Joseph L. and Clare G. Murray. She was a 1964 graduate of Hyde Park High School. In 1971, Donna and Vincent moved to Easton, a town Donna loved and was proud to call home.

Mrs. Shipalowski worked as a hostess at the Town Spa Restaurant in Stoughton and she was always complimented on her style as she had a keen fashion sense and was always dressed well. Her beautiful blonde hair was always done right and Donna enjoyed shopping at Talbots. She loved her family, and loved to take day trips to the Maine Coast.

Donna was talented with her flower garden and enjoyed working in the yard, making her home that she loved so much, so beautiful. Always looking up recipes for home cooking and studying the Food Network is something her children and husband will always remember. What her family will remember most though, is a simple phrase that Donna always advised, Be kind. She will always be loved and cherished for how kind of a lady she was and for what her future son-in-law would recall, having the hard fighting spirit of a true Bostonian.

She leaves her children Jason and his wife Alicia of Sharon, Susan of Easton and her fiancee John Collins of Ireland, whom she was thrilled to soon call her son-in-law. She also leaves a brother, Joseph Murray and his girlfriend Rose of Maine and Florida and Bobby Murray of Florida, and many dear friends and relatives.

Visitation was held Monday, Oct. 14, from 9-10:30 a.m. at the Copeland-MacKinnon Funeral Home, 38 Center St., Easton, followed by a funeral Mass at 11 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church in Easton. Interment in Knollwood Memorial Park in Canton. Online condolences may be made at www.mackinnonfuneralhomes.com. Donations may be made in memory of Donna A.
