Obituary: Marie J. Friesen, 83, lived in Easton for 58 years

Marie J. (Carchidi) Friesen, 83, a resident of Easton for the past 58 years, died on Sunday, November 3, 2013 at Southeast Rehabilitation and Skilled Care Center in Easton with her family at her bedside after a period of failing health. She was the wife of James J. Friesen for 59 years.

Born in Brockton on May 17, 1930, a daughter of the late Domenic and Marianne (Sinopoli), she was a 1948 graduate of Brockton High School and continued her education at Brockton Business School. During Marie's early years she worked as a bookkeeper for Lincoln Labs of Bedford. Upon starting a family, she left the work force and was a devoted homemaker and loving mother of 8 children. After raising her family, she worked at Eastco in Westwood.

A communicant of the Immaculate Conception Church in Easton, she was a member of the Daughters of Isabella at the church and a member of the Mother of Twins Club in Brockton. Marie had many hobbies, but what brought her greatest joy was the time spent with her family and friends.

In addition to her husband James, she leaves eight children, Maryann England of Jamestown, RI, Janet Russell of Easton, Jean Boudreau of Sandwich, James M. of Wrightstown, NJ, Lisa OHearne of Easton, Karen Mills of Easton, Mark of Sparta, NJ, and Joseph of Stoughton; a brother Samuel Carchidi of Pocasset; 16 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. She was also the sister of the late Angie Crowe, Rose Fossella, Ann DiNunno, and Jenny Vella.

The funeral was held from Kane Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 605 Washington Street (Rte. 138), Easton, on Friday, Nov. 8, at 9 a.m., followed by a funeral Mass in the Immaculate Conception Church, Easton, at 10 a.m. Interment in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Easton.
