Obituary: Patricia A. Gerety, 82, Nurse for Over 20 Years

Patricia A. Gerety, 82, a longtime resident of Easton, died Thursday, Dec. 5, 2013, at Saint Annes Hospital in Fall River after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late David W. Gerety Sr. Born in Brockton, April 22, 1931.

A daughter of the late John and Teresa (Reed) Skahill, she was raised in Middleboro and was a graduate of Middleboro High School. She continued her education at Quincy City Hospital School of Nursing earning a degree as a registered nurse. After raising her four children, Patricia went to work as an RN and was employed for over 20 years at the former Goddard Hospital in Stoughton.

A communicant of the Immaculate Conception Church in Easton, her hobbies included knitting, ceramics and exercising. She also enjoyed animals. Patricia is survived by her children, David Jr. of Plympton, John of North Weymouth, Tracy A. Ibbotson of Little Compton, RI. and Susan E. Cromidas of Norwell; 13 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. She was also the sister of the late Elizabeth J. Bulcock.

A funeral Mass was held Friday, Dec. 13, at 10 a.m. in the Immaculate Conception Church, 193 Main Street, Easton. Interment in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
