Update: Patriots Super Bowl Victory Parade Postponed

The duck boats will not be rolling through Boston on Tuesday.

Boston Mayor Marty Walsh announced on Monday evening that the parade to celebrate the New England Patriots winning the Super Bowl will now take place on Wednesday rather than Tuesday.

“Due to today’s bad weather and the worsening forecast for tonight, the New England Patriots and the City of Boston have made the mutual decision to postpone the victory parade until Wednesday, February 4 at 11 a.m. We thank everyone for their flexibility and patience during the planning of this parade and we look forward to celebrating with Patriots fans during better weather on Wednesday,” Walsh said in a statement.

Originally, Walsh announced Monday morning that the New England Patriots victory parade would take place on Tuesday, Feb. 3.

The route remains the same as originally announced, beginning at the Prudential Center on Boylston Street at 11 a.m. and ending at City Hall.

Unlike previous years, there is no rally scheduled at the end of the parade.

Sunday night, the Patriots beat the Seahawks 28-24 to win their fourth Super Bowl title. The victory parade will be the city’s ninth in the past 13 years.

Those attending the parade on Wednesday are advised to bundle up. The National Weather Service is forecasting a high of 33 degrees in Boston.
