Poquanticut Avenue Detour Scheduled In Easton

Poquanticut Avenue is set to be detoured at Beaver Dam Road due to work on the Five Corners sewer project.

EASTON, MA — Poquanticut Avenue is set to be detoured at Beaver Dam Road this week as part of the ongoing Five Corners sewer project in Easton. The detour will be necessary due to the installation of the main line gravity sewer pipe that will proceed north on Poquanticut Avenue between South Street and the end of the line about 180 feet north of South Street.

Southbound through-traffic on Poquanticut Avenue will be detoured onto Beaver Dam Road to the east, then south onto Bay Road and back to the Five Corners intersection. Residents of those streets, as well as Roundtable Road, Excaliber Lane and Armor Lane, will have access to those streets from the north. Emergency vehicles and school buses will have access and normal bus routes will be maintained. Residents of Poquanticut Avenue to the south of South Street will have continuous access from Foundry Street or South Street.

There will also be testing of manhole structures and previously instilled mains on Foundry Street between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. This work involves service trucks in the eastbound lane of Foundry Street. Traffic will alternate around the work using the westbound lane on Foundry Street. Additional intermittent delays may occur.
