Slots Developer, Raynham Selectmen Reach Deal

Residents and the state gaming board must still vote before any deal is done.

If Raynham residents and the state gaming board approve, then a deal the Raynham Board of Selectmen reached last night with Raynham Park will make the town $1 million per year from the slots developer, according to the Boston Herald.

The town of Raynham would receive $1 million each year for the first three years before that increased by 2.5 percent per year after that until the 20th year, when the number would be capped at one percent of all gross gaming revenue.

In addition, Raynham Park and their partner Greenwood Racing/Parx, a casino company from Pennsylvania, will pay $100,000 per year for capital improvements and $15,000 each year to improve Rt. 138.
