Southeastern Regional School District Celebrates 50th Anniversary
Both the high school and STI will hold a series of events to commemorate the district's history

It’s been fifty years since Southeastern Regional Vocational-Technical High School opened its doors to students seeking vocational training in Southeastern Massachusetts. Today, both the high school, which now services over 1500 students from nine districts, and Southeastern Technical Institute, which offers adult education at the same facility, are celebrating their past with a series of events to commemorate the five decades of education.
School Superintendent Luis Lopes said they are hoping to involve a far-reaching group of alumni, students, and staff, as well as business and community members.
“This is a year for celebration. We want to hear from past graduates and all that they have accomplished. We also want alumni and local businesses to visit the school to see all the fantastic upgrades and learn how we are preparing our students to become the next workforce generation,” he said.

Some of the celebrations will take place during annual school events, including homecoming, open house, and graduations, but there are several special events that will take place in honor of the 50th anniversary, including an alumni reunion dinner and dance, an alumni flag football and baseball game, a winter gala, a Memorial Day breakfast to honor veterans, and a golf tournament.
The Southeastern School District looks forward to great year of celebration and commemoration. Proceeds will go towards funding all the events with profits going toward the Southeastern Regional School Foundation for student scholarships. Also, the district is offering many different sponsorship packages.
