Blue Bikes Offering $1 Single Fare Trips: Why? Comm Ave Project

It's a silver lining to that Comm Ave chaos, er, project.

BOSTON, MA — Well, at least there's something good about the Comm Ave bridge construction situation: Blue Bikes is offering $1 Single Fare Trips starting today during the Comm Ave Bridge Replacement construction project through its completion on August 11.

From Thursday, July 26 to Aug. 11, the outbound side of Comm Ave, as well at the BU Bridge, will be closed to cars and trucks and later bus and train routes.

The Comm Ave bridge eastbound is still supposed to be open to pedestrians and bikes... enter Blue Bikes: "Bluebikes is here to help!" they said in a release.

So to respond to this, they've popped up a temporary station and are adding a couple more valet services in the area (yep with a person) with the idea of always having a bike and a place to leave a bike. Check out the stations nearby:

Look for the Blue Bike "Ambassadors" giving out smiles and free stuff at the two additional valets along Commonwealth Ave, here:

  • Commonwealth Ave and Babcock, 7:30 - 10:30 am
  • Silber Way, 3:30 - 6:30 pm
  • Longwood Ave at Binney Street, 8:30 - 10:30 am

How to access the deal? Download the Bluebikes app or grab a pass from any kiosk.
