Boston Red Sox 2019 Opening Day: Where To Watch, Listen, More
The Boston Red Sox start defending their World Series championship Thursday, March 28. Here's what you need to know.

The Boston Red Sox enter their 2019 season with a World Series trophy-shaped target on their back. For stars Mookie Betts, Chris Sale, Xander Bogaerts and unflappable manager Alex Cora, that's fine by them.
The defending champions open the season on a lengthy West Coast swing, playing Opening Day in Seattle on Thursday, March 28. Sale will take the mound at 7:10 p.m. (that's a 4:10 start local time) as the Red Sox face the Mariners in a four-game set. You can watch that game on ESPN and listen on WEEI-FM (93.7)
Starting with Friday's 10:10 p.m. start, four of Boston's first 11 games will start after 10. From Seattle they go to Oakland for the Athletics, then to Arizona for the Diamondbacks.

Heading into the 2019 season, oddsmakers are bullish about the Bostons chances to repeat as World Series champions. According to Oddschecker.com, the Red Sox have a 13.3 percent chance to successfully defend their title. Those are tied with the Houston Astros for the second-best odds, behind the Yankees. Boston, of course, beat both teams in the playoffs last year.
