Boston Red Sox Play First Game Next Week

The Patriots are eight days removed from winning the Super Bowl. It's going to snow tomorrow. We've entered the dog days of winter, and there's no light at the end of this dreary tunnel.

But wait: The Red Sox begin their Spring Training schedule next week. Boston takes on Northeastern University on Friday, Feb. 22, before facing the New York Yankees on Saturday. The weekend slate kicks off a span of 33 games in 33 games for the Red Sox as they ready themselves to defend their World Series title.

The Red Sox World Series parade was Oct. 31. Attention pivoted right to the Patriots, who kept us busy through their Super Bowl parade last week.

Boston starts the regular season on Thursday, March 28, when they travel to Seattle to take on the Mariners. Their first home game isn't until Tuesday, April 9, against Toronto.
