Chris Sale Released From Hospital
The Red Sox ace lefthander is expected to rejoin the team tomorrow in Houston.
BOSTON, MA — Red Sox ace Chris Sale has been released from Massachusetts General Hospital, the team announced early Monday evening. The lefthander is expected to rejoin the team Tuesday in Houston.
Sale was hospitalized Sunday for what the team said was a stomach illness. He did not fly with the team to Texas.
It's unknown if he is still scheduled to start Game 5 of the American League Championship Series in Houston. His Game 1 start on Saturday went only 4 innings, and his fastball velocity was much lower than normal.
