Comm. Ave's Espresso Royale to Become Pavement Coffee House

The popular coffee shop will be closed and reopened as a Pavement Coffeehouse in August.

A 20-year mainstay on the BU portion of Comm. Ave, Espresso Royale Caffe  (736 Comm. Ave) will be closed, renovated and re-opened soon as another branch of the popular Fenway Pavement Coffehouse.

Back in 2006, Pavement's owner, Larry Margulies, bought all three Boston locations of the Midwest-based coffee chain, with one on Gainsborough Street, one on Newbury, and the original on Boylston Street.

The new Pavement Coffeehouse on Comm. Ave will open as early as August 28th, according to EaterBoston, a restaurant and food blog in the city.
