'Fenway First,' Business Network Launches

Fenway First, the Fenway neighborhood's new business association, will be hosting a networking event on Tuesday, August 6th at 7pm at Sweet Caroline's on Boylston Street.

Calling all Fenway-Kenmore business owners! Fenway First, the Fenway neighborhood's new business association, will be hosting a networking event on Tuesday, August 6th at 7 p.m. at Sweet Caroline’s on Boylston Street.

All business owners, managers and working professionals in the area are encouraged to attend.

The new business alliance is the brainchild of Tetyana Pecherska, who is serving as executive director. Percherska said she first got involved in the Fenway neighborhood through the Fenway Community Development Corporation, and was amazed to see that there was no formal business association in the Fenway or Kenmore neighborhoods, especially with so much incoming development and change.

"I think a lot of businesses will start feeling pressure from the new developments and very likely rents are going to start going up and going to be harder for local businesses who can’t afford the permitting processes," she said. "Ideally down the road, we’ll have some advocacy power but build a good network to put everyone together."

Percherska said the business association plans to support and lead local businesses through networking, marketing and advocacy initiatives. Members already on board include representatives from Woody’s, Swish Shabu,  El Pelon, Neighborhoods Café, Thornton’s, Church, Citizen Public House, Tasty Burger, Sweet Caroline’s and more.

If your business is looking to get involved, contact Percherska at (408) 398-9910, tetyana@fenwayfirst.com, or visit http://fenwayfirst.com.
