
The voting in Fenway-Kenmore precincts for the 2013 U.S. Senate special elections Tuesday reflected the preferences of the state overall, with Democratic candidate Edward Markey winning over Republican candidate Gabriel Gomez.
There was relatively low turnout overall in Fenway-Kenmore precinct (Boston's Ward 4, Precinct 4-10 and Ward 5, Precinct 2), with averages hovering between 5 percent to 40 percent voter turnout, depending on the area.Â
Overall in Boston, Markey earned 70,086 votes, or 76 percent. Gomez took 21,437 votes, or 23 percent. Third party candidate Richard Heos took 320 votes, or .35 percent, with 294 write-in votes totaling .32 percent.Â
