President Obama Nominates Former MBTA Chief to NTSB
Beverly Scott resigned from her post as general manager of the MBTA back in February, after the T system crumbled in bad weather.

The former general manager of the MBTA, Beverly Scott, was appointed to the National Transportation Safety Board after resigning from her post this past winter.
President Obama selected nominated Scott to the board, among seven others, the White House announced.

Obama said in a statement,“I am confident that these experienced and hardworking individuals will help us tackle the important challenges facing America, and I am grateful for their service. I look forward to working with them.”
The former head of the MBTA was forced to leave her position this past winter when the transit system crumbled amid an abundance of brutal storms. She announced her resignation on February 11 after a great deal of public outcry over the T’s inept abilities to accommodate commuters.

Scott’s new employer is an “independent federal agency charged by Congress with investigating every civil aviation accident the United States and significant accidents in other modes of transportation – railroad, highway, marine and pipeline,” according toNTSB.gov.
Scott had been with the MBTA since 2012.
