BOSTON — The Boston Red Sox received their World Series rings Tuesday during their home opener, which they dropped to the Toronto Blue Jays by a score of 7–5. The loss underscored the team's sluggish start to the 2019 campaign, as the Red Sox stand at 3-9 — good for the bottom of the division.

Jostens crafted the team's 14-karat white gold rings that commemorated the 2018 World Series win over the Los Angeles Dodgers. Former players David Ortiz, Manny Ramirez and Pedro Martinez, along with the New England Patriots, joined the on-field celebration.

Some of the lone bright spots for the Red Sox Tuesday were Mookie Betts and Mitch Moreland, who each hit home runs. Xander Bogaerts also went 2-2 with an RBI. Chris Sale struggled on the mound, giving up 5 earned runs as he dropped to 0-3 on the season.
