UPDATED: Situation at Brigham and Women's Cleared

BOSTON, MA - Police have cleared the scene outside Brigham and Women’s Hospital after a suspicious package was found early Friday afternoon.

A suspicious package was reported to be found outside the hospital on Francis Street just after 12:30 p.m. Friday afternoon.

The bomb squad was called in to check the package and Boston Police closed off Francis Street between Brookline Avenue and Binney Street.

Witnesses in the area said there was a large police presence in the area of the Brigham.

Officials cleared the scene just after 1 p.m. Friday.
