Free Concert at Hatch Shell

Happening at the Hatch Shell tonight is a free Boston Landmarks Orchestra concert called "Fiesta Sinfónica: A Night in the Tropics." Two worlds meet in music inspired by Latin-American song and dance spanning over 150 years. The Landmarks Orchestra joins a "pocket-sized salsa orchestra" featuring musicians from Boston's Latino community. The concert starts at 7 p.m. See here for more information. 

No Mayoral Visit Today

In an earlier column of "The Week Ahead in Fenway-Kenmore," I wrote that mayoral candidate John Barros will be in the Fenway neighborhood today at 12 p.m. at the Peterborough Senior Center. However, his visit will actually be on August 7th, not today. 

Break Out the Bug Spray

Although there have been no human cases yet, and no cases in the South End, mosquito pools tested positive for West Nile Virus in Jamaica Plain last week. All the more reason to wear long sleeves and pack your bug spray. Last year there were four confirmed cases of the virus in Boston.
