1. Expect a Sunny Monday in Foxborough with a High of 67
Today’s weather in Foxborough, according to the National Weather Service based in Taunton, calls for sunny, with a high near 67. Calm wind becoming south 5 to 7 mph in the afternoon. Monday night: Patchy fog after 1 a.m. Otherwise, mostly clear, with a low around 46. South wind 5 to 7 mph becoming calm after midnight.
2. Board of Health to Talk Tobacco Regulations
Foxborough’s Board of Health will meet Monday at 7 p.m. in the Gala Meeting Room to reorganize the board and to discuss tobacco regulations with Marilyn Edge of the Tobacco Coalition.

3. Foxborough Democratic Town Committee Sponsors Speaker on Citizens’ Right to Privacy
The Foxborough Democratic Town Committee (FDTC) will feature a speaker from the American Civil Liberties Union on current dangers to our personal privacy here in Massachusetts, and what citizens can do about them. The event will be held at 7:30 p.m. Monday following the FDTC’s regular meeting at 7 p.m. inside the McGinty Room of the Foxborough Public Safety Building. Â
Specific issues to be discussed during the presentation include police technologies such as license plate readers, drones, location tracking and electronic surveillance.

The presentation will also describe a number of pieces of legislation that have been proposed in Massachusetts to address those potential threats to privacy. See privacysos.org/lawreform for some of the proposed bills.
Since the speaker was scheduled, the Foxborough Public Schools announced a plan to install a surveillance system. Money for this school surveillance project will come partly from grants, including one from the office of the Norfolk County DA’s office and partly from an appropriation request that will be made at the May 13th Annual Town Meeting. This local development will also be part of the discussion.
