Bicyclist Hit By Car In Foxborough

Police said an off-duty Foxborough firefighter gave first aid to the bicyclist while awaiting a medical flight.

FOXBOROUGH, MA — A bicyclist was injured Wednesday after being hit by a car at the intersection of Mechanic and Oak streets.

Police said an off-duty Foxborough firefighter gave first aid to the bicyclist while awaiting additional first responders.

According to police, the driver was traveling on Mechanic Street and turned left onto Oak Street, but the driver failed to yield the right of way to the cyclist on Mechanic Street.

The cyclist was taken to Ahern Middle School and then airlifted to a Boston hospital.

Police said the driver was issued a citation for failure to yield the right away at an intersection.
