Dorchester Man Caught With Stolen Utility Truck In Foxborough: PD

Foxborough police said they caught Frederick Hernandez-Jones, 34, with a stolen truck outside Burrell Elementary School.

FOXBOROUGH, MA — A Dorchester man was arrested Tuesday at Burrell Elementary School after police said he stole a truck in Randolph.

Frederick Hernandez-Jones, 34, was charged with receiving a stolen motor vehicle, use of a motor vehicle without authority, breaking and entering, operating with a revokes license and larceny.

Just after 9 a.m., police received a call from a business on Oak Street. The caller told police Hernandez-Jones was acting suspicious while driving a telephone company truck on his property. According to police, Hernandez-Jones also broke into the caller's car and stole his checkbook.

Police said they later learned that the truck was stolen earlier outside a deli in Randolph while the worker was inside.

Police found the truck at Burrell Elementary School, and several of the construction workers on site reported that the driver was acting suspiciously, including asking for a ride.

Workers pointed out Hernandez-Jones to officers and told them he stole a hard hat and cigarettes. Police said Hernandez Jones also tried to break into the workers' vehicles.

When officers approached, police said Hernandez-Jones was wearing a hard hat and yellow safety vest to try to blend in with the workers.

Hernandez-Jones was taken into custody and was scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday in Wrentham District Court.
