FOXBOROUGH, MA — The Kraft Group has approached Foxborough town officials about the possibility of having drive-in concerts outside Gillette Stadium.

Town Manager William Keegan said the plan would involve hour-long show on Fridays and Saturdays in one of the club parking lots outside the stadium. The concerts would end at 9 p.m.

Keegan said admission would be restricted to 400 socially distanced vehicles, and no more than four people can be in a single car. Food or drinks would not be available in the lot, but Patriot Place restaurants would likely be open for food service during the event.

Town officials did not have a formal application in hand at Tuesday's selectmen meeting, so board members were reluctant to signing on to the plan immediately.

"If this is something we're going to vote on, I think we need some paperwork," Selectman Chris Mitchell said.

Keegan said both Police Chief Michael Grace and Fire Chief Michael Kelleher approved the concept of the request, but more work needs to be done.

The concerts would need state approval. Town official need to know if a drive-in concert is compliant with the four-phase reopening plan for Massachusetts amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The Board of Selectmen agreed to table the discussion until they receive a formal application from the Kraft Group.
