Foxborough Animal Control Rescues Baby Foxes Stuck In Storm Drain

Officials thought the pups were coyotes, but once they cleaned them up, they realized the pups were baby foxes.

FOXBOROUGH, MA — Animal control officials in Foxborough rescued two baby foxes that found themselves stuck in a storm drain.

Officials with animal control were called to Baker Street Monday after someone discovered the two pups stuck in the drain. Police, fire and highway department officials were also called to help.

Initially, officials thought the pups were coyotes, but once they cleaned them up, they realized the pups were baby foxes.

"Unfortunately we were not successful in reuniting them with mom, so they have been sent to rehab where they will hopefully be released when old enough to be on their own!" Foxborough Animal Control said in a Facebook post. "Thanks to everyone who helped with the rescue and special thanks to fellow ACO/rehabber Erin McCarthy for her help with cleaning these little ones up and making sure they were stable."
