This Foxborough Business Got The Most Federal Coronavirus Money

The federal government has sent more than $105,000 to two Foxborough companies for coronavirus relief efforts since March.

FOXBOROUGH, MA — The federal government has sent more than $105,000 to Foxborough companies for coronavirus relief efforts since Congress passed the CARES Act in March.

The bulk of the funding in Foxborough, about $57,000, was awarded to Intirion Corp.

Intirion has received contracts under the CARES Act under the Department of the U.S. Air Force for major household appliance manufacturing, according to the Federal Procurement Data System.

Intirion, founded in 1998, specializes in manufacturing household refrigerators and freezers.

Likkar Maintenance Systems, which specializes in distributing cleaning, maintenance and other janitorial supplies, also claimed $48,000 under veterans affairs for small electrical appliance manufacturing.

Congress passed the $2 trillion Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act on March 27. In addition to direct aid to people who lost their jobs and the Paycheck Protection Program to help small businesses avoid laying off workers, the act included direct government spending for fighting the coronavirus.
