Foxborough Comcast Now Has Electric Vehicle Charging Station

At Comcast, we are focused on reducing energy usage, and that extends to our customers, inside – and now outside – the home.

For local employees and residents, we have installed electric car charging stations at
our Foxborough office (85 E Belcher Road) as well as at our Chelmsford office (5 Omni Way). Other potential sites are being evaluated for 2018.

"We believe this helps employees and residents alike by making it easier to keep their electric cars on the road," said Tracy Pitcher, Senior Vice President of Comcast's Greater Boston Region. "We look forward to seeing local residents use this free service at our local offices. Plus, we're always mindful of consumer demand for services that can help them shrink their own environmental footprint, which we've outlined further below."

The electric car charging stations are managed through ChargePoint, the world's largest network of EV charging stations. To use one, drivers simply download the app from the site, which allows them to plug in at our Chelmsford or Foxborough offices – and connect to a network of more than 40,000 stations.

We're also focused on providing the most innovative services in the home and extending energy efficiency to our customers.

For example, our X1 customers can simply say "Go Green" into their voice remote and the box will enter a power saving mode, which powers down the device when it's not in use. In addition, many of the set-top boxes that deliver our video services in customers' homes today are on the ENERGY STAR Set-Top Box Qualified Product List.

Combining consumer trends with our interest in sustainability also has resulted in the increased adoption of options such as the use of Xfinity My Account app, which can eliminate an unnecessary technician visit and EcoBill, which lets customers view and pay their bills online — from the My Account app or xfinity.com. By not receiving a paper statement in the mail every month, it's a free, easy and secure way to be environmentally friendly. Comcast's EcoBill program conserves more than 84 million sheets of paper and 137 million envelopes on an annual basis.
