Foxborough Man Dies After Swarm Of Bees Attacks

FOXBOROUGH, MA — A Foxborough man died over the weekend after he was attacked by a swarm of bees while blowing leaves.

Eric Dahl, 48, was transported to Norwood Hospital, where he died likely from a heart attack, his family told the Sun Chronicle. He had been cleaning his lawn on Keryn's Way when he was attacked by the swarm.

Dahl, a Cambridge native, was a graduate of Matignon High School in Cambridge and later received his bachelors and masters degrees from Bentley University, according to his obituary. He was employed by Fidelity Investments as a systems analyst.

He was a fan of all Boston sports teams and was an avid runner. His favorite time was spent with his family at the beach, where he became known for his famous beach setups, which included American flags and numerous beach games.

He was an animal lover who especially loved his dog, Murphy.

In addition to his wife Alison and his parents, Dahl is survived by two children, Emma and Casey Dahl of Foxborough; two sisters, Kerry Dahl of Melrose and Kathy Dahl of Cambridge; his father and mother-in-law, Harry and Carolyn (Call) Romsey of Plainville; brother and sisters-in-law, Stan and Heather Lockavitch of North Attleboro and Jason and Jodi Romsey of Wrentham. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and cousins.

Calling hours for relatives and friends is Sept. 27 at Roberts and Sons Funeral Home. A funeral service will be celebrated on Sept. 28 at 11 a.m. at Bethany Congregational Church in Foxborough. Burial will follow in Rock Hill Cemetery.
