Foxborough Murder-Suicide: Father, Son To Be Waked Together

The Scaccia lost their lives Thursday night after William shot Anthony before turning the gun on himself.

FOXBOROUGH, MA — The Foxborough father and son who died together will be remembered together.

Anthony J. Scaccia, 6, and William F. Scaccia, 49, are scheduled to have their wakes together at Gillooly Funeral Home, Sept. 27 from 4 to 8 p.m., according to the funeral home's website. The funeral service and interment are private.

The Scaccia lost their lives Thursday night after William shot Anthony before turning the gun on himself. William also attempted to burn down the East Street home where Anthony was living, but the boy's grandmother was able to put out the small fire.

William had a long history of legal trouble which included domestic restraint orders, assault charges, and threats towards his son's mother regarding custody of their child.

The town will hold a night of remembrance and community healing Tuesday night at 6:30 p.m. on the town common. Members of the local clergy will lead the community in prayer along with a moment of silence and followed by a candlelight vigil.
