Foxborough Power Outages: More than 2,500 In The Dark

Severe storms ripped through the area, knocking out power at 2,573 Foxborough homes and businesses.

FOXBOROUGH, MA — Nearly 2,600 Foxborough homes and businesses have lost power, according to the MEMA's outage map.

As of 8:45 p.m., Wednesday, 2,573 National grid customers had their power knocked out. That's eight percent of the town.

Just a week after strong winds cut power for more than 70,000 homes and businesses across Massachusetts, forecasters are warned of the potential for more outages.

Wind gusts of up to 60 miles per hour were expected for the second straight Wednesday. The entire state is under either a high wind warning or wind advisory. The warnings start at noon and end after midnight.

Last Wednesday more than 72,000 customers lost power throughout the day. A wind gust of 72 miles per hour was recorded at Blue Hills Observatory in Milton.
