George Strait, Blake Shelton Coming To Gillette This Summer
The performance marks Strait's only show in New England since his "Cowboy Rides Away Tour" stop at Gillette Stadium in 2014.

FOXBOROUGH, MA — Country music fans have a lot to look forward to this summer. The legendary "King of Country" George Strait, along with Country Music Association’s 2012 Entertainer of the Year Blake Shelton are playing Gillettee Stadium on Saturday, Aug. 17.
Special guests Cody Johnson and Caitlyn Smith are also performing. Tickets go on sale to the public on Friday, March 29, at 10 a.m. via Ticket Master.
The performance marks Strait’s only show in New England since his “Cowboy Rides Away Tour” stop at Gillette Stadium in 2014 when he announced he would no longer tour and only perform select engagements.

With an unmatched 60 singles hitting the top of the charts – more than any other artist in any genre – during his 30-year career, Strait is the undeniable “King of Country Music.” He has collected 33 Platinum or multi-Platinum-selling albums, more than any county artist and third across all genres behind only The Beatles and Elvis Presley.
Strait is the only act in history to have a Top 10 hit every year for over three decades and has sold nearly 70 million albums and earned more than 60 major entertainment industry awards, including induction into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2006.

Since his record-breaking “Cowboy Rides Away Tour,” Strait has performed for limited engagements, including 18 “Strait to Vegas” shows. Select appearances in 2019 include several Las Vegas shows at T-Mobile Arena, a March 30 show at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, a June 8 show at Ohio Stadium in Columbus, Ohio for the 2019 Buckeye Country Superfest, the Aug. 17 show at Gillette Stadium and two shows at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas on Nov. 22 and 23.
Shelton, a member of the Grand Ole Opry, has earned a host of honors throughout his career, including 20 ACM nominations and both the male and overall Video of the Year trophies at the 2018 CMT Awards. As a coach for the Emmy Award-winning television show, “The Voice,” Shelton is a six-time champion, most recently with his contestant Chloe Kohanski.
