FOXBOROUGH, MA — No, Rob Gronkowski hasn't announced he's coming out of retirement. But the legendary Patriots tight end done did catch one more pass at Gillette Stadium during Luke Bryan's summer kickoff concert. And this time, it was someone besides Tom Brady throwing Gronkowski the football.

During Bryan's Foxborough stop on the "Sunset Repeat Tour" Friday, Gronkowski made a surprise appearance about halfway though the set. Bryan, wearing a Gronkowski Patriots jersey given to him by a fan, told the sold out crowd there was "someone who wanted to come out and say hello." Moments later, Bryan grabbed a football, and Gronkowski was running a fade route down the stage.

Bryan overthrew the target, and fans pleaded for the two to try again. On the second attempt, Bryan looked a lot more like a quarterback, completing the pass to Gronkowski and making the crowd go wild. Fittingly Bryan continued his set with his hit single, "Crash My Party."

Gronkowski was a nice bonus, but this crowd of New England country music lovers was cheering, dancing, and singing along throughout the night as Bryan played through his biggest hits including "Drink A Beer," "Dust On The Bottle," "Play It Again," and "My Kind Of Night."

Providing support for Bryan was multi-platinum artist Cole Swindell, who got the crowd ready for the main event with a set that featured hits like "Hope You Get Lonely Tonight," "Middle of a Memory," and "Wish You Were Here," which he wrote in the parking lot at Gillette while on Bryan’s "That’s My Kind of Night Tour" in 2014. He also debuted his new song, "Drinkin’ Hours."

Brett Young, playing in only his second NFL stadium, brought high energy and excitement to the stage during his set, which included his new hit "Catch," "Like I Loved You," and "Used To Missing You." The night was extra special for Young because his uncle, Randy Vataha, played wide receiver for the Patriots for six seasons in the 1970s.

"The fact that this is where my uncle had his football career is pretty special," said Young. "I could be making it up, but the first time I ever flew on a plane, as a kid, was to come out and visit my New England family. It’s a very full circle moment for me tonight. It’s a beautiful stadium and I am excited to be here."

Country newcomer Jon Langston got the party started with a set that featured "Right Girl Wrong Time" and "Prob’ly at a Bar."
