Obituary: Michael Hassett, 62

Michael Joseph Hassett, age 62, passed away as the result of an accident on Wednesday, February 17, 2016. He was the son of the late Edward and Rita (Farley) Hassett.

Michael was born on July 1, 1953 in Lowell and graduated from Lowell High School, Class of 1970. He married his wife Mary (Silva) on Oct. 22, 1972 in Lowell. Michael was employed as a warehouse manager for Bernie & Phyl’s Furniture in Norton. He was a Foxborough resident since 1988. He was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Country Club in Lowell. He enjoyed taking care of his farm animals, birds, going to the beach and playing golf.

Beloved husband of Mary C. Hassett. Devoted father of Stephen Hassett and his wife Darcey of Foxborough, Sean Hassett of Foxborough, Beth Hassett of Foxborough and Jason Hassett and his girlfriend Maggie Kelly of Holbrook. Loving grandfather of Tony, Austin, Devin, Cameron, Kaden and Kolby. Brother of Mary and her husband Steve Patzman of Harwich, James Hassett and his wife Flo of Lowell, Robert Hassett and his wife Linda of Truro and Jack Hassett and his wife Brenda of Lowell.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend calling hours on Sunday, Feb. 20 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Roberts and Sons Funeral Home, 30 South Street, Foxborough.
