Police Logs: Foxborough Woman Arrested for Possession of Nearly 1 Pound of Marijuana

Friday, May 10:
7:32 p.m. – Mariella C., Roma, 23, of Foxborough was arrested and charged with possession to distribute Class D drug (marijuana), reckless operation of motor vehicle and following too closely following a motor vehicle stop in the parking lot of America’s Best Value Inn on Route 1. According to The Sun Chronicle, Foxborough police officer Frank Azevedo attempted to pull Roma’s vehicle over on Route 1 when the vehicle allegedly “sped up … turned into the parking lot at Seasonal Specialties … then continued across Pine Street into the parking lot behind the Lafayette House and drove through to a parking lot behind America's Best Value Inn” when it finally came to a stop. Officer James Mattson told Azevedo a witness allegedly saw Roma take a backpack from inside her vehicle and place it underneath the pickup truck, according to The Sun Chronicle.
The backpack reportedly contained nearly a pound of marijuana.
