REMINDER: Special Town Meeting Is Oct. 1

The small warrant includes a request for funding for the Burrell Elementary School renovation.

FOXBOROUGH, MA — Special Town Meeting will take place much earlier than past years and has a small warrant of eight articles.

Foxborough voters will be asked to attend the meeting at the high school on Oct. 1. The early date is due to the timeline associated with the Burrell School renovation project. The project is expected to be the showcase article. Voters will be asked to approve the borrowing needed for the $34.7 million project. The Massachusetts School Building Authority recently announced that they will contribute over $14.6 million to the project and figure could increase to $15.3 million if the MSBA determines that any of the owner's and/or construction contingency expenditures are eligible for reimbursement, according to the school building committee.

Voters will also consider Article 1, which calls for using $250,000 from ambulance receipts reserves and an $810,000 federal grant to buy a new ladder truck for the fire department.
