RI Man Caught With Illegal Gun In Foxborough: Police

Police said the gun arrest came after a traffic stop on Washington Street because Richard Chauvette's registration was from another car.

FOXBOROUGH, MA — A Rhode Island man was arrested in Foxborough Sunday after police said he illegally possessed a gun and ammunition.

Richard Chauvette III, 21, of West Warwick, was charged with carrying a firearm without a permit, possession of ammunition without a permit, improper storage of a firearm, possession of a high capacity magazine and various motor vehicle charges.

Police said they pulled over Chauvette on Washington Street because his truck's registration expired. Officers later discovered the registration plate on the truck belonged to a different vehicle, according to police.
