Toby Keith's Bar Blames Patriot Place For Closing

FOXBOROUGH, MA — Toby Keith's I Love This Bar and Grill at Patriot Place has shut down. The popular bar for live country music and Patriots games closed abruptly on Wednesday, and a representative from Toby Keith's argued that Patriot Place was to blame. Debbie Corvo owner and operator of Toby Keith’s, told Patch the bar had to close because Patriot Place acted "very greedy," and had badly harmed their business.

A representative at Patriot Place disputed Corvo's claims, arguing the decision not to renew the lease at 275 Patriot Place was not Patriot Place's decision alone. In a statement to Patch, Patriot Place spokesman Jeremie Smith said:

“Patriot Place management and Toby Keith’s I Love This Bar and Grill have mutually agreed to terminate the tenant’s lease. We would like to thank CRGE Foxborough, LLC for the service and hospitality they provided to our guests over the years. We greatly appreciate Toby Keith’s I Love This Bar & Grill’s many contributions to the success and popularity of Patriot Place and wish them well in their future endeavors.”

Toby Keith's I Love This Bar And Grill had been at Patriot Place since 2011 and became a popular venue for country concerts. Country singer Annie Brobst acknowledged the closing on Facebook, saying her band was the last to play there.

"Today is a sad day and New England truly lost a great country music venue as you closed your doors for one last time today," Brobst said.
