5 Things You Need to Know Today: April 16
Not every office is running today, but lots of marathoners are.

Each morning, Grafton Patch presents “5 Things You Need to Know,” a collection of announcements, events, reminders and odd little ditties to help you organize your day. What will you be doing today?
1. Today is Patriots Day. Schools, the library, state agencies and the Municipal Center are closed, but because it is a state holiday only, federal offices are open and mail will be delivered.
2. Because of Patriots Day, trash and recycling collection is cancelled today. Collection schedules will be pushed out a day, with the final collection day on Saturday.

3. And of course, it’s the marathon, although perhaps a smaller one than usual, with record heat predicted. We will have live coverage throughout the race so keep following us!
4. Carroll Road will be closed from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. today for sewer line replacement.
