Cummings Veterinary School Donates PPE To Health Care Centers

GRAFTON, MA — The Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University donated personal protective equipment to local hospitals and health care facilities to help combat the new coronavirus pandemic. On Thursday, the school's dean, Alastair Cribb was joined by Rep. David Muradian to drop off PPE to UMass Memorial Medical Center.

UMass Memorial received N95 masks, masks with face shields, surgical masks, gloves, disposable coats/coveralls, disposable head coverings and disposable foot coverings from Cummings.

To lend a helping hand, Cummings has been donating critical medical supplies to human healthcare facilities, continuing to provide emergency and essential veterinary care for its patients and pursuing research projects to help better understand and potentially contribute to treatments for the virus.

The Cummings School Farm is donating 30 dozen eggs per week to the Grafton Food Pantry as well as other local pantries.

The state's coronavirus case count nears 14,000 and a death toll of 260. Gov. Charlie Baker on Monday announced a new $13 million relief fund to support nonprofits working on the economic impacts of the outbreak.
