Grafton PD Helps Herd Horses Headed To Chinese Restaurant
A group of people thanked Grafton police with a cake after officers helped herd some runaway horses.
GRAFTON, MA—On Thursday morning, Grafton police got several calls about a group of horses - five, exactly - who were taking a walk on Upton Street near Wong's Chinese Restaurant.
When police got there, they found the horse owners along with several horse enthusiasts who were trying to herd them and get them off the road and on to the Grafton and Upton railroad tracks. The horses and their owners followed the tracks down to Sibley Street and Upton Street where they received a police escort back to their stables on Meadowbrook Road, reported police.
A short time later the owners stopped by the police station to drop off a large cake to express their appreciation for our assistance.

"We thank them for their thoughtfulness and we're happy that the horses were safely reunited with their owners," said police on their Facebook page. "We also want to thank several passing motorists who offered their assistance during the roundup. We also wonder if the horses freed themselves because they were tired of oats and hay and were in the mood for some Chinese takeout."
