Grafton Tops 'Hottest Towns in Mass.' List
A leading agent in the state released its top 25 towns with the largest home sale increases, and Graton made that list.

One of the leading real estate agents in the state just released its “Top 25 Hottest” list, and Grafton topped it, coming in no. 8 in a list of 25.
Lowell grabbed the blue ribbon at number one, with 955 home sales for 2014. Some repeats on the list include Westborough, Yarmouth and Hudson.

McGeough and Lamacchia assessed 351 towns in Massachusetts, and the report reveals the top 25 with the largest increases in home sales for 2014 compared to the previous year.
“This list also provides a look into the future of home prices in these areas,” said the report. “Home prices tend to rise after sales rise. Since we actively sell homes in most of these towns, we enjoy preparing this list on an annual basis to better educate our clients.

According to the results, Grafton saw 290 home sales in 2014, which was an increase of 6.62 percent compared to 2013, which had 271. The median price is $290,000.
