NORTHBRIDGE MA - Thank you to State Representative David Muradian, State Senator Michael Moore and Federal Senator Edward Markey for their support of your community media/television center and their opposition of the FCC taking our grant funding and handing it to Charter Spectrum. Your support does not go unnoticed. It is refreshing to see politicians from both sides working together for a common goal. To save your community TV/media center.

Here at Northbridge Community Television, we have been working diligently with State and Federal Reps and Senators to stop the cable TV provider and the FCC from proposed rules that will de-fund of your community TV facility here in Northbriidge and all others across the country.

It is expected that on August 1, 2019, the FCC backed by Charter Spectrum and others will make the decision.

Unfortunately in the past the FCC does not take the opinions from the citizens of the United States into account when making decisions. This was clearly demonstrated by the unilateral decision regarding the removal of net neutrality where the FCC had fierce opposition.

We wanted to publicly thank the powers that be for their support in keeping your community TV media center intact and properly funded.

Keep in mind, the cable company collects our funding from your cable bills which turns out to be around 3% of their gross revenue from our residents. The funding is NOT coming out of Charter Spectrum's pocket and they still want us NOT to receive the grant funding we need to properly operate.

We are eternally grateful for the amazing support of these politicians for standing up to mega corporations and to the FCC who only sees value in mega corporations and their own personal self interests and not our residents.

We hope our viewers, volunteers and non profits we support daily will call and thank these politicians for doing the right thing.
