Babette’s Feast Opens Tonight at Gordon College
The Gordon College Department of Theatre Art's fall play is a story of grace.

The Gordon College Department of Theatre Arts presents its fall play Babette’s Feast. Conceived and developed by Abigail Killeen, written by Rose Courtney, and adapted from the short story by Isak Denisen, the play tells the story of Babette, a French refugee who finds asylum in a pious Norwegian village. Directed by Jeffrey S. Miller, Babette’s Feast runs November 1-2, and 5-9.
Babette’s Feast is the tale of a strict early 19th-century religious community in a Danish village who welcome a mysterious and surprising refugee from the Franco-Prussian War. It is a story of small-town life, of human eccentricity and wonder, of hope and disappointment. Ultimately, it is a story of grace.
The show is performed by an ensemble of 10 Gordon College students all of different majors and classes. Performances will be held at The Margaret Jensen Theatre. The production is staged in the round, with seating on all sides of the theatre, creating a very intimate theatrical experience.
