There has been a drastic increase in new clients who had never previously flown private.
In addition to the business travelers, there were people using private aviation to transport elderly parents, young children, or travel themselves without the government imposed bans that were in place on airlines.
Of course, this large increase private aviation has also led to an increase in MRO Services – meaning further growth for the industry.
Finally General Aviation Aircraft manufacturing has also experiencing growth. Read about it in our former blog post Private and Business Aviation Continues to Thrive.
The Science of the Pandemic
The other factor increasing demand and creating a lot of first time private aviation travelers was very simply the science. Flying privately compared to flying commercial was shown to be dramatically less risky in coming to in contact with an infected person. Check out our earlier blog post on Covid-19 Risks and Safety Protocols. It’s unclear as to how and when vaccination will alter the playing field, but it’s safe to say, private aviation will retain a lot of new customers.
