Police Identify Body Found On Salisbury Beach

Authorities have identified the body found Monday morning on Salisbury Beach.

SALISBURY, MA – The body that was found on Salisbury Beach Monday morning has been identified as a missing Lowell man after his boat capsized last Tuesday.

The Essex County District Attorney's Office identified the man as Chhoeun Chhoun, 44, who went missing after his boat capsized near the mouth of the Merrimack River. Beach goers pulled his body ashore on Monday.

"While this is a tragic loss, it will hopefully bring some closure for Mr. Chhoun’s family and friends," Salisbury Police Chief Thomas Fowler said in a statement.
