Competency Hearing For Topsham Woman Withdrawn
Woman allegedly kidnapped and assaulted a Hamilton toddler.
A competency hearing for a Topsham woman accused of abducting a toddler in Hamilton last fall has been withdrawn by the defendant’s lawyer, Susan McNeil.
Abigail Hanna, 21, of Topsham, was arraigned last month for kidnapping, breaking and entering in the nighttime, assault and battery on a child resulting in bodily injury and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon on a child under 14. Since her April arraignment, Hanna has been housed at MCI Framingham, the only all-female prison in the Massachusetts prison system after being moved from the Worchester Recovery Center, where she had been since her arrest last fall.
Hanna allegedly kidnapped a child from a Hamilton home during the early morning hours of Nov. 20, 2015. Hanna had previously babysat the toddler according to police reports and family interviews.
