The Holidays are just around the corner, and for the vast majority of us, this season is going to be radically different.

While our team at Beverly is fully prepared to welcome everyone this holiday season with our extensive safety measures in place, we also know the reality is that many of you will not travel at all, and will be unable to connect in-person with friends and family.

Virtual Ideas

To make the holidays a little brighter, we’re sharing some fun ideas of ways to connect virtually with your family and friends. We would love to see how you use these ideas, so feel free to snap a picture and tag us on Facebook.

What’s Cooking

The Holidays are famous for lots of signature dishes from family members. A fun activity to bring family together (without literally bringing family together) is to have everyone write down one of their signature dishes or absolute favorite recipes and share with the entire family. You can create a shared google folder, dropbox, email or snail mail.

Make and share pics of your favorites that are shared with you. Then next year, if you are feeling super ambitious, you can publish a Family Cookbook complete with pics as gifts.

Dining From a Distance

Consider getting together over Zoom for a few minutes before the meal, or when opening gifts. Have everyone think of a favorite memory, or what they are most thankful for. You can have a prayer together, a moment of collective quiet reflection or a toast.

Let the Games Begin

Games are a fantastic way to have fun and spend time together, and with a little planning you can use technology. Good games to play virtually are Heads Up and Quick Draw. House party is a free app that connects up to eight people at once into a video chat “room” Need more inspiration? Check out this very detailed list.

Gratitude and Giving

Give thanks and show gratitude by helping others is a wonderful way to end the year and celebrate. There are dozens of organizations and non-profits that can use your donation. You can also help out the elderly or sick by dropping off groceries and a holiday meal.

On behalf of Beverly Regional Airport, Airport Manager Gloria Bouillon wants to thank all the essential workers in the sky and on the ground keeping our transportation system running during the holiday season. Please feel free to contact Gloria, or visit our website if we can do anything to help with your holiday plans.
