Hamilton Council On Aging Seeks Air Conditioners For Seniors

Last year, the Hamilton Council on Aging helped install 11 donated air conditioners for local seniors.

HAMILTON, MA – The Hamilton Council on Aging is seeking used but working air conditioners for local seniors. Currently, they only have one unit available at the Senior Center.

Council on Aging Director Mary Beth Lawton said last year, during the heat wave toward the end of summer, she got a call nearly once a week. The council gave away 11 air conditioning units last summer.

Lawton said the council is looking for simple, single-room air conditioners that residents are upgrading from, or no longer need. Residents can make an appointment to donate units at the Senior Center by calling Lawton at 978-468-5595.
