Hamilton Native Helps End Epic NBA Winning Streak

The Golden State Warriors were 24-0, but a Hamilton native helped his team, the Milwaukee Bucks, end that streak Saturday.

Michael Carter-Wiliams came off the bench Saturday in Milwaukee to play an instrumental role in putting an end to the Golden State Warriors historic 24-0 start to the season.

It’s just another stellar performance on the basketball court for the Hamilton native.

Carter-Williams grew up in Hamilton and has twin brothers who currently play for the Hamilton-Wenham Regional High School basketball team. After graduating from St. Andrews Academy in Rhode Island in 2011, Carter-Williams took his game to Syracuse University where he played for two years before entering the NBA draft after his sophomore year.

His NBA career began with the Philadelphia 76ers where he earned the team’s 2014 Rookie-of-the-Year title. This season, he’s playing for the Milwaukee Bucks.

On Saturday, the Bucks took on the at-that-point undefeated Golden State Warriors in Milwaukee.

Carter-Williams put 17 points on the scoreboard after coming in off the bench. He also had five assists, five steals and three rebounds to go with his 70 percent field goal percentage on the night, according to stats available on ESPN. His two fourth quarter dunks helped seal the 108-95 victory for his Bucks.
