Hamilton PD Debunk Rumors Of Escaped Wolves Roaming Town
The police department received 32 calls stemming from a false social media post claiming escaped wolves were roaming around Hamilton.
HAMILTON, MA — Hamilton police are urging residents not to believe a social media post claiming escaped wolves are roaming about town. The police department received 32 calls asking about the posting and whether it were true — it's not.
A social media post that circulated on Wednesday morning claimed wolves had escaped from the Wolf Hollow in Ipswich and were roaming around Hamilton. The post was "erroneously framed as a message from Hamilton police," the town said.
With so many calls coming into the department throughout the morning, police dispatchers were advising callers to inform others in town that the rumors were not true.
