Hamilton Police Offer Halloween Safety Tips

Hamilton police want kids to stay safe while heading door-to-door for halloween treats.

HAMILTON, MA — Halloween is right around the corner and as the kids finalize their costumes and trick-or-treating routes, Hamilton police want you to keep some safety tips in mind. Trick-or-treating hours in Hamilton are set for 5-8 p.m.

The main points for trick-or-treaters included:

  • Wear reflective clothing or carry a flashlight or glow stick so that your parent can find you and so that you're visible to on-coming cars.
  • Stick to the sidewalks and driveways. Try to avoid walking through lawns as there could be tripping hazards you won't see.
  • Wait until you get home to eat your candy, that way your parents can inspect it.
  • If your costume is long, sew it up or tuck it into your socks so you won't trip.
  • Don't wear masks while walking through the street, it'll make it harder to see.
