The Shared Winter Streets and Spaces program provides grants from $5,000 to $300,000 for quick-build improvements to sidewalks, curbs, streets, on-street parking spaces, and off-street parking lots in support of public health, safe mobility, and renewed commerce.
The grant will pay for a multifaceted project that will connect Patton Park to the downtown district by installing a new bike lane along Willow Street between Railroad Ave and Asbury Street as well as an improved crosswalk across Asbury Street to allow pedestrians to safely access the park. We will also be installing new bike stalls at both the corner of Willow Street and Railroad Ave as well as at Patton Park.

In addition to improving mobility, we will install electrical outlets along Railroad Ave to further activate the street. Having access to outside electricity will make it easier to hold street fairs, hang holiday lights and possibly allow for outdoor dining.
Special thanks goes out to residents Ted Acworth and Brian Stein for their assistance in developing the application for this grant.
